The Procession of Math, Art and Science - Next Tuesday Night

Sometimes the varied interests of the WBSC become apparent. For example, next Tuesday when we will host a talk with Ben M. Jordan, a friend of ours who is visiting from Harvard University (sounds fancy, right?). Like us, Ben is excited about lots of things, including the following:

The Procession of Math, Art and Science
Tuesday, October 6, 7PM
West Bank Social Center

The integration of the artistic process with scientific investigations has significant benefits for those willing to cross the line. Ben M. Jordan (Harvard University, Cambridge, MA) will discuss the history, benefits and pitfalls of unifying these methods in terms of expression, accuracy, creativity and truth. We’ll examine a few prints and movies resulting from his work in number theory, as well as have a brief and “all ages” introduction to the mathematics behind it. A discussion will follow addressing future work, funding for interdisciplinary projects in art and science, as well as any questions.

This talk is free and open to the public. If you have questions, email westbanksocialcenter[at]gmail.com
